As part of the "St. Paul and Evangelization" Pauline Year Lecture Series, Dr. Judith Ryan's lecture focuses on the Jewishness of the Apostle Paul, including the Apostle's call and commission in relation to that of Israel's prophets and also looks at the roots of Paul's message of evangelization in the promises, dreams and visions of the Hebrew scriptures. Based on the Apostle's own letters, it appears that evangelization has two components: a pastoral and local aspect that highlights the personal character of Pual's correspondence, and a far-reaching missionary dimension that proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ "to all the nations."
Dr. Judy Ryan is an Associate Professor of New Testament and a full-time member of the Faculty of Theology at the University of St. Thomas School of Theology at St. Mary's Seminary.
