Finding the First American: Archaeology's 21st Century Challenge
Category Archaeology Lectures
Year: 2005

Description:
For decades, a prehistoric culture called "Clovis" has been thought of as the archaeological leavings of the first people to inhabit the Americas some 12,000 years ago. Over the last few years, careful review of the archaeological evidence reveals severe flaws in the "Clovis First" theory. The resulting newly engaged debate rises in large measure from the Gault Clovis site in Central Texas with which Dr. Collins has been engaged for many years. The challenge is to develop a replacement.
